Alternative text: Our last few days in Iceland
Alternative text: The oldest known spring in Iceland.
Alternative text: A hidden gem. There was no one else around for kilometers.
Alternative text: Supposedly the most photographed mountain in Iceland? Dean, we think this shot may make the magazine.
Alternative text: Snæfellsjökull, the entrance to the center of the earth.
Alternative text: Pretty much every irregular looking rock formation here in Iceland is the tomb of a troll who got caught in the sun.
Alternative text: Goats
Alternative text: Goat Selfie
Alternative text: I'm considering starting an instagram of photos of me picking up random animals
Alternative text: Hallgrímskirkja is this super famous church in Reykjavik. It's the tallest church, and sixth-tallest building in Iceland.
Alternative text: It turns out Reykjavik is a pretty romantic place.
Alternative text: Lief Erricson is very prevalent here. There are statues of him and pretty much everything you could name after him here. (Streets, hotels, mixed drinks, etc.)
Alternative text: Reykjavik was ripe with cats.
Alternative text: We found Adam's hotel here in Reykjavik. Didn't know you were going international with Localis!
Alternative text: The raven. A sign of wisdom and knowledge. A fitting symbol to permanently tattoo on my arm.
Alternative text: Shannon's Icelandic scene of mountains and trees. Iceland is seriously one of the most beautiful places either of us have been.
Alternative text: Honeymoon, Days 4 & 5 – North Iceland & Westfjords
Alternative text: Discovered this waterfall hiking to the hot pot.
Alternative text: Hanging in the hot pot
Alternative text: The church in Holar.
Alternative text: All of the red lights are hearts.
Alternative text: Picture with the chef... probably.
Alternative text: Lunch pretty much every day. The have the best hot dogs here.
Alternative text: A stop along our drive in the Westfjords today.
Alternative text: This is a tilberi at the museum. I am not getting into detail with this one, lol.
Alternative text: Honeymoon Day 4 – Getting into Iceland (What does the fox say)
Alternative text: akureyri3
Alternative text: These are steam vents. They are interesting to look at up close if you can get past the smell.
Alternative text: A crack in the earth created by.. volcanic activity? Earthquakes? Not really sure.
Alternative text: Here you see a boiling mud pot. Falling into this just might be one of the most painful ways to die.
Alternative text: The view from the top of Hverfjall. You can probably tell by the picture, Shannon was not impressed at the view atop the volcano after the 45 minute uphill climb it took to get there.
Alternative text: We tried our hand at rock stacking, a sport that seems to be one of the more popular pastimes here in Iceland. These cairns line a long stretch of deserted highway along the ring road between Mjóeyri and Akureyri.
Alternative text: If you are a Game of Thrones fan, you may recognize this cave from the scene where Jon Snow and Ygritte go for a dip. Unfortunately there were a few other tourists there so we couldn't re-create the scene.
Alternative text: Goðafoss waterfall is one of the most spectacular waterfalls we have seen. You can walk right up to the edge and look over the spot where Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði tossed his Norse statues into the rushing waters after making Christianity the official religion of Iceland in the year 1000.
Alternative text: A snack of Reindeer, Puffin and Arctic Char.
Alternative text: Thanks Hotel Akureyri.

Alternative text: Silica mud masks at the Blue Lagoon
Alternative text: img_1582
Alternative text: Standing at the base of Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Alternative text: Selfie game on point.
Alternative text: This is what most of Iceland has looked like so far. It is incredibly beautiful, yet it feels desolate and lonely at times.
Alternative text: The second of the two major waterfalls we visited. This is Skógafoss waterfall.
Alternative text: "Yep, you're totally catching all the water"
Alternative text: There is livestock nearly everywhere. It seems like horses, cows and these fuzzy little guys make up about 90% of Iceland's population.
Alternative text: Standing inside a waterfall!
Alternative text: These basalt pillars are believed to be trolls who lost track of time while trying to pull a ship out of the sea, turning to stone at sunrise.
Alternative text: Sun starting to set on us and the trolls.
Alternative text: Night 2 cabin.
Alternative text: Honeymoon Time!
Alternative text: Turned my first (and probably only) engagement ring box
Alternative text: Turning blanks
Alternative text: The top is walnut, the bottom, zebrawood. I had an idea when I started of how I wanted it to look. Came pretty close I think.
Alternative text: I don't own a drill press, so the holes for the magnets were not super clean. Used some neodymium magnets that I got at Michaels for $5. They work extremely well. (1/4" by 1/8")
Alternative text: The inside of the lid has a few grooves in it still. Guess that is what I get for waiting until the last minute to finish this up. Added a few light coats of clearcoat sealer to give it that shine.
Alternative text: Almost ready. Just need some way to secure the ring...
Alternative text: A few layers of burlap hot-glued around a piece of foam does the trick. P.S. The ring is a morganite stone set in rose gold with a halo of white sapphire stones with two white sapphire leaves on each side.
Alternative text: First engaged selfie
Alternative text: Ahhh. Home.
